High Fidelity Skills & Simulation for returning trainees

Location: Milton Keynes Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Date:  Tuesday 26th November 2024 / Monday 17th March 2025 & Monday 1st December 2025

Time: 08:30-17:00. The day maybe shorter if attendee numbers are low.

This session is designed to draw lessons from the skills and human factors modules together in as realistic a way as we can. The day is fully simulation-based, and we will make sure that you will have at least one simulation scenario specifically written for your particular specialty and level of experience. On the day, the faculty will ask if you have any particular areas you’d like to focus on, and we’ll do our best to build this in to your session. Each scenario will be around 30 minutes long, and is followed by a debriefing tailored to your particular interests and learning needs.

It’s not mandatory to have attended any of the other modules before you come on the simulation day, but it would be helpful if you are comfortable with the practical skills relevant to your specialty, and are familiar with human factors terminology. There are no tests or assessment; this day is 100% about teaching. We can offer a safe forum in which you can discuss any concerns or anxieties you have about getting back to the workplace, and give you a chance to draw on the experience of colleagues who are going through the same process. For more information about the course please email england.srtt.tv@nhs.net

We are unable to provide our free crèche facility at this current time, but we can offer a reimbursement up to £50 for a day of care in the child’s usual setting (on a day they wouldn’t normally attend).
