Bespoke Small Group Surgical Skills Teaching and Mentoring

This two hour session is for trainees who are unable to attend the full day Surgeons module and is aimed at more junior HSTs and CTs in general surgery but would be appropriate for generic skill familiarisation in the allied specialties such as plastics/ ENT/ urology, ED  and O&G. Wexham Park Simulation Centre -alternate Thursday morning sessions dependent on the trainer’s rota availability. Examples of skills practised with support: Suturing of skin models, Excision of subcutaneous lumps, Insertion of drains, Suturing of vein patch, Practice of bowel anastomosis: suture and stapled, Laparoscopic suturing, placement of objects and practice of hand eye coordination. .
