When Seeing Isn't Believing

This is an extensive 3-year programme of on-going research being run in by Paul Greig and Helen Higham in the OxSTaR Centre, in collaboration with with Professor Kia Nobre at the University of Oxford Department of Experimental Psychology.

The project seeks to explore the incidence and effect of errors of perception on situational awareness, adapting important breakthroughs made in experimental psychology to medical practice. This programme employs mixed-methods, including video-based experiments, bench-based laboratory work and simulation to explore various aspects of situational awareness and contributors to medical error.
