SKILLS & SIMULATION FOR RETURNING PHYSICIANS

Location: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust

Date:  Thursday 2nd May & Thursday 11th November 2024

Time: 08:30-17:00. The day maybe shorter if attendee numbers are low.

This skills and simulation workshop will provide an opportunity to refresh and update technical skills and knowledge  relevant to your medical practice. There will be simulation scenarios to build your confidence dealing with acutely ill patients and familiarity with current guidelines. The scenarios will focus on communication skills and managing the medical take. Round robin skills station will cover various important medical procedures, e.g. Chest drain insertion, lumbar puncture, defibrillation/pacing, central line insertion, airway skills, abdominal paracentesis, IV cannulation and arterial blood gases. There will also be a refresher on radiology and investigations. All of this will be provided in a friendly supportive environment with absolutely no assessment and the opportunity to address your specific questions/worries throughout the day. For more information about the course please email srtt.tv@hee.nhs.uk

Whilst the RTT courses are running face to face, there maybe an option to attend virtually.

We are unable to provide our free crèche facility at this current time, but we can offer a reimbursement up to £50 for a day of care in the child’s usual setting (on a day they wouldn’t normally attend).
