OxSTaR Paediatric Skills & Simulation for returning trainees

Location: Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Dates:  Thursday 14th March, 11th July, 12th September & 5th December 2024 

Time: 09:00-17:00. The day maybe shorter if attendee numbers are low.

This module is designed to recover the essential practical skills you may want to build confidence in when Returning to training as a Paediatric or Neonatal Registrar at a district general hospital in Thames Valley after a period of leave. Including for example the management of the unexpected extreme premature infant, acute pneumothorax on SCBU and insertion of emergency access for drugs/fluids and other skills that may be required to stabilise the critically ill child. We are unable to provide our free crèche facility at this current time, but we can offer a reimbursement up to £50 for a day of care in the child’s usual setting (on a day they wouldn’t normally attend).
