Rosie Warren
OxSTaR Centre Manager
Rosie joined the department in 2011 after securing a clinical simulation and patient safety fellowship from NHS Education South Central and later became the OxSTaR Centre Manager in 2012. Rosie has a comprehensive clinical background in critical care spanning seventeen years. Prior to commencing this post she was a Senior Sister in the adult intensive care unit of the Oxford University Trust, a large busy unit accepting patients from many specialties. Whilst in this role her key projects included:
- Setting up of the satellite ITU at Churchill hospital
- Intestinal transplant nursing lead
- Transfer of critically ill lead and unit representative driving education and capability
- Co-ordinated the Acute Life-Threatening Events: Recognition & Treatment course.
Aside from her NHS duties Rosie is a member of the Territorial Army and has completed two operational tours. Within her military training she has been regularly exposed to realistic simulation of ballistic and battle wounds. These experiences have been very powerful learning medium and developed her keen interest in clinical simulation.
