Nicholas Crabtree

Consultant Anaesthetist

Nick is a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford. He has an interest in simulation and medical education and completed a one year simulation fellowship at St. Michael's Hospital, University of Toronto during his training. As faculty for OxSTaR he has designed and runs an Anaesthetic Crisis Resource Management and an airway training day for anaesthetic assistants. He regularly teaches on the train the trainer and Foundation year doctor courses at OxSTaR. Nick developed the popular advanced training module in simulation/medical education, which is designed for senior anaesthetic trainees wishing to develop a formal interest in this area and he continues to be the clinical supervisor for this ATM. He has a strong interest in educational research having previously published in this area and is currently an investigator for the StART study which is comparing traditional teaching to simulation enhanced learning for novice anaesthetists.
