OxSTaR Apprentice Medical Simulation Technician

I’m fortunate to be one of the first apprentices (Sep 2022) in the country to be enrolled in an Apprenticeship with Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust undertaking a Medical Simulation Technician Lvl 3 qualification.

My work placement will be with OxSTaR located at the John Radcliffe Hospital, a centre that provides a training environment for medical students and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals with the use of adult and pediatric high-fidelity mannequins and VR systems to rehearse a wide variety of medical scenarios.

It’s been a rewarding experience so far, not just with the team that I work with, but with the technologies/methods that the centre uses, which they strive to always improve on.
